Otherwise, do I just need to do a clean install of Ubuntu? I noticed the LTS version changed to 22.04.2 from 22.04.1 on Ubuntu's website. I did notice that the onboard 16gb storage was nearly full after installing a few apps however I intended to use a plug-and-stay usb stick for file storage. I tried waiting for like 15 minutes but I guess I could try to wait longer? I can enter the BIOS before this screen is up but once its on this part it will not continue and my desktop will never appear. Then, when booting up one day I got this message:ĮDIT: It is stuck on this screen. ![]() I downloaded some apps from the Ubuntu Software app and loved having full desktop, Google-free experience. Everything was working perfectly for about a week or two. Mainly reading this subreddit and MrChromeBox's website was the biggest help, and following this page carefully. For anyone wanting to do the same thing to their Dell 3100 here are some videos I followed that helped: I thought maybe the process went so smoothly due to the latest update by MrChromeBox (coreboot 4.19 Release 2023.01.23). However, the 3.5mm jack did not work, which, considering my zero linux knowledge, I was happy to live with. I didn't have any issues with the trackpad/keyboard, wifi/bluetooth, or speakers. I couldn't find any posts anywhere online regarding this specific model so I was surprised it worked so smoothly. I was really happy because this is my first time installing linux on anything, not even a virtual machine.
